About Ms. HesterI am from San Antonio and grew up in NEISD schools so I am excited to be part of such a great team! I attended NEISD schools where I had a great opportunity to go through excellent music programs.
After high school, I attended Baylor University and have a bachelor's degree in Music Education with a Choral emphasis. I taught middle school choir in Temple ISD and Midway ISD in central Texas for the first 5 years of my career. After returning home, I taught elementary music in NEISD for 2 years. Now, in my 12th year of teaching and 5th year at Johnson, I am excited to continue working with your students. Go Jags!!! |
Music Education Philosophy |
I believe that music education is a way for students to be expressive and creative. I also believe that the skills students will learn can be lifelong skills. There are plenty of opportunities for all students to be engaged and showcase their individual talents through music. At the end of the day, I want your students to learn lessons that are fun and make them feel a sense of success.
